He's not bad actually. Quite enjoyable. To compare new to old is crazy in my opinion b/c that can just not be replaced, but this AIC is certainly better than no AICmacc5 wrote:great poster..
I have not heard the new lead singer, but old AIC is amazing stuff.

Duvall is singing from Cantrell's band, he's really good. I checked them out at the "band practice" in Seattle.macc5 wrote:great poster..

Better question is did you ever see them with Layne?Flimby wrote:you are right, i probably shouldryan_1969 wrote:Have you seen them? You should check them out.Flimby wrote:blind melon is back getting together with a new singer as well

Point is, I saw them twice and both times it was apparent how little Layne really did on a live stage. Jerry took most of the singing duties and even when Layne did sing, Jerry was singing a harmony. Not to belittle the guy but on both events i saw him live he was not as much as a frontman as you would expect.
He might have done wonders in the studio or writing but Jerry carries and always did carry the torch in that group IMO.
I wish.moemoe6434 wrote: Better question is did you ever see them with Layne?

And I know what you guys mean. Jerry Cantrell contributes a lot to their vocals. I just really liked Layne's style and it is sad to me that he was never able to kick. He was one of the best frontmen of the 90's for sure. Personally I much prefer the AIC unplugged to Nirvana's.
Nonetheless, I am going to check them out based on those reviews. I don't think there were really any cool AIC posters before this reformation, so that's nice.
I think AIC, Blind Melon and Culture Club are all back with new singers now. Coincidence? I think not.
I saw AIC 3 times with Layne and just recently saw them with the new lead singer. He actually is not that "new". He has been singing lead with Jerry Cantrell for the last few years. I did not even realize it was the same singer until I saw them a few weeks ago. The new AIC is great live. Jerry is amazing on guitar and vocals. The new guy (William DuVall) fills in the blank very well. See them live if you have a chance.moemoe6434 wrote:Better question is did you ever see them with Layne?Flimby wrote:you are right, i probably shouldryan_1969 wrote:Have you seen them?
