I usually get sellers to undervalue it.
Would it help if he gave you it in explicit writing that he is aware of the situation and will take the risk, which you could then fall back on if a dispute happened to be raised? That's what I usually offer to do. But I do check beforehand.

Here it goes again..... Just ask him if he accepts responciblity for loss or damage if anything happens then it is fine, I do it all the time and never had any issues yet (touch wood as I got another 250 print on its way via first class post $10 value on it!). Customs charge quite a lot on a £300 print - I know in uk we would get charged about £70 on that customs duty and we get charged on the cost of the shiping too so it you send it by an expensive method it can add another £10 our way. Sometimes you can end up paying £100 on top of the print for shipping, insurance and customs, that is a hell uv a lot on top of the print! But I do agree, buyer has to accept responsbiity for sending it that way.LarryForsyth wrote:If the buyer bought the item without first checking your stance on insurance declaration it's their problem not yours - too many times, buyers purchase items and then try to bully sellers after the fact.LeeKaye wrote:Yep, through ebay. It's annoying, as I check this stuff BEFORE auctions end. And now there is this drama around it, as you say, I am fully at risk. FFS.
Stick to your guns and say you only ship at full cost, worst case scenario is they don't want the print and you cancel the auction.

I guess it's the risk you take. Most of the time it's works fine. It all depends how expensive your print is when it doesn't

I bought a Stout Robocop last year for about $900 (wow that seems a lot now, did I pay over the odds !?) - but anyway, foolish you may call me but I instructed the seller to send it in First Class post, uninsured, and with a $10 value on it!!! It arrived safely and I love it. Now if it had got damagd or lost I would have quite simply drymounted!!

Interesting snippets:
"Yeah I've actually finished a really big project that should be unveilled next month"
"Not star wars stuff".
"If all goes to plan I will have some new prints coming out in november", "they're not for FW" - "but if you like those firewatch posters you will probably like them"
