This looks a rush job, the likenesses are 90% on most with Data and Momma being the best, the worst is Joe Pantoliano... what the hell is going there?! And having the octopus so front and center is odd and seems like a afterthought. Reg colors are another odd choice. All in all the last really excellent Stout poster was Shaun of the Dead. I also dont like the composition here I think having all the characters in the same size really makes it static ( dont care about the "X", would rather have a pleasant comp than a little "wink") I hope he takes his time on his next one.

Heard there is a Cyndi Lauper and Capt Lou Al Bano hidden in there somewhere.
Couldn't disagree more on all points. The composition on this is great, blows Shaun of the Dead away. And the likeness on Joey Pants is spot on in regards to how he looked in this film. If I were to take issue with any of the likenesses it would be with Rudy.Buckhammer wrote:This looks a rush job, the likenesses are 90% on most with Data and Momma being the best, the worst is Joe Pantoliano... what the hell is going there?! true fans know about the octopusTKuczynski wrote:The most prominent feature on the poster is a 'character' from a deleted scene that most, even those who have grown up with this film, have never seen.
edit: the ship should have been front and center

He should have put a gigantic shawarma in the middle of his Avengers poster then.
Seriously though, not hating. I just would have liked to see the ship featured more prominently, that was always my favorite set in the film. The octopus wasn't even in the theatrical release, nor was it included in the screening this poster is for, apparently.

I think we can all agree that stout should only do prints for movies he has already seen. All of my favorite prints are from movies that he had time to become familiar with. Star Wars, Shaun of the dead, kill bill, reservoir dogs, akira and now the Goonies are classic stout prints. I wwouldnt even care if he does a poster for The Hateful Eight and it's a year late. I would rather him take his time with all his posters. Even though inglorious Basterds is one of my favorite prints period, it would probably be even better if he a chance to see the movie first.
