The art of the sleeves alone is reason enough for it to exist.apruski03 wrote:Why even make it vinyl. Such a weird hipster thing to do. I can't imagine actually listening to this. There's some great movie soundtracks, but 8 discs of batman music like this is ridiculous. The records are probably blank anyways and nobody will ever know because they will never touch a needle.

I'll absolutely listen to it, just as I listen to the CDs of the BTAS score now.apruski03 wrote:Why even make it vinyl. Such a weird hipster thing to do. I can't imagine actually listening to this. I'd be hard pressed not to frame all those LP's. Art is fantastic. Makes me want to watch the show(which I've never actually seen in full.)

haha vinyl is not exclusive to hipsters by any means, I will say the resurgence of cassettes may be their fault lol. And many people love soundtracks.

Haha, this is true!
Honestly, it just feels like a marketing ploy to pump up the price. That's a steep price for that set.
It is...but it's also a big-ass set. If we're looking at 16 episodes worth of music (8 records) then that's like 320-350 minutes worth of show that's been scored. It's a rough price but it makes sense.apruski03 wrote:That's a steep price for that set.

If I ever thought I'd give any of these soundtracks a second spin I'd start collecting Mondo vinyl in a heartbeat. Just can't see myself listening to most of these soundtracks more than once (GOTG being an exception)
Now if they start doing some John Williams soundtracks...

i think the sheer amount of content licensing, the custom box production, vinyl pressing and printing costs x8, all that artwork, the screenprinting, and the raw time a handfull of people spent putting it all together on the backend, is gonna add up to more than you think. that box alone is easily $20-25 cost at a quantity of only 1200.apruski03 wrote:e
