I would say it is far more that supply has run out than greed winning out. You don't see many of them popping up because most of them have settled into collections, especially the lower run stuff. I bought plenty of things UNDER cost just a few years ago cause no one was buying. Now that lots of things have huge demand, there aren't nearly enough to satisfy that want.

I was a little late to the show, so I had to sell my right kidney to the black market in order to fund a couple of the more elusive pieces, but it's all good :)

But yeah, the supply/demand really dictates the market.. (hype also has a role, but that's a whole other can of worms)
