I would say it is far more that supply has run out than greed winning out. You don't see many of them popping up because most of them have settled into collections, especially the lower run stuff. I bought plenty of things UNDER cost just a few years ago cause no one was buying. I was a little late to the show, so I had to sell my right kidney to the black market in order to fund a couple of the more elusive pieces, but it's all good
