Should also consider acquiring some peyote to go with it if possible.
New to the art game, would love your help.
Hey Edo, based on your intro and present collection, it looks like you have the right idea.
My best piece of advice is to periodically reflect upon but otherwise generally ignore other people's opinions here. It's like anything else in life; people tend to run in herds. Don't follow the herds - trust your own judgment and taste, and go wherever it takes you.

Welcome to the sleaze pit

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately...
Ill tell you what people told me when I joined.
Dont believe the hype. Buy what you like and what you need to decorate your walls the way you want it. Dont think like it was an investment and everything will be good.
And no you dont need a bot, just patience and good timings.
And by following every release on site like 411posters and others, you'll develop your tastes seeing whats out there.

and yet here you arecharter wrote:Bots, turds that post mouth diarrhea, turds that camp 4 days out, and turds that think their instaflip is worth $5000 in trade value have ruined this hobby for me. It's not fun anymore.
My advice...don't listen to anyone here except for mcnail and danieldanger.
OK. Whose alt is this?rerocustom1989 wrote:I'm gonnaaaaaa disregard the post-body and just go off the title:Regarding the post body:

Also, people around here will just think you're somebody's alt if you go against the grain.
Daniel Danger tends to make darker colored prints, but I find some of them to be rather dream-like. He also seems pretty knowledgable about how to render his work with silkscreening. (and it shows) Wish he would post more about it honestly.
Laurent Durieux has a fantastic cross-hatch half-tone style and is strutting his stuff in a retro travel-poster series that's ongoing atm.
Olly Moss helped shoot Mondo into popularity with his pop-culture pieces. I would describe his work as "deceptively simple". Usually the longer you look the more you find.
Kevin Tong tends to use great metallic inks in his work. They're not something that show up in JPEGs of the work, only sometimes in photos. I suppose Horkey is the same way!
Im also relatively new here. I began by wanting a single poster. ( Bertmer - Swamp Thing - Variant )
Once I found it, I found about 100 other things I liked. I don't give a crap about "Flipability or "Investments"
Although, it is nice knowing that some posters are worth more now than when you first purchased them.
If you find a certain artist that you like, subscribe to their dedicated thread, then youll be updated when new stuff comes out.
Edit: The artists you said you were interested in are the "Cream of the Crop" IMO.
If you cant score one of their posters on the drop, get ready for some carnage on the secondary market.

My advice is go to a show. It's awesome to met the artist, make friends, and experience the gallery viewing. That's where I enjoyed this hobby the most. I'll still try and catch a show a year even though I'm backing down. Make it a vacation and not a job opportunity.

First tip is to ignore ANYTHING rerocustom1989 says.
My only other thing is to be mindful of spending. It's easy to get caught up in hype and feeling like you need a particular piece. If that happens a few times a month you could easily blow a lot of money so try to be as objective as possible. Just take it easy and enjoy the hobby for what it is.
Welcome!
