Is the mouth gone, or is the nose gone? I have never been able to tell is these guys have no mouths, or no nose and tiny mouths with huge chinsEG8 wrote:I took a pass only because of the mouth being gone. That is very odd

He's missing the nose. He has a smile in each one.
OK, that's what I thought. And I was kind of referring to the entire series of 5x5's that Olly has made, not just these guys. I never quite knew if that was supposed to be the nose or the mouth. But thank you!Darkknight37 wrote:He's missing the nose. He has a smile in each one.

I agree that Don Draper is tough to do in this style. He ends up looking like a random tall, dark, and handsome man. The other core characters in Mad Men are highly recognizable though such as Peggy, Joan, Pete, Roger, Stan, Betty and Cooper. If Don was sprinkled into that mix then he'd be instantly recognizable. The set, as it stands, could be missed as a Mad Men set even by a Mad Men fan. I'm happy Olly gave Mad Men some attention, don't get me wrong, but Don ended up not taking to Olly's 5x5 style as well as I was hoping for.
Love the set, especially “Tomorrow Never Knows” Don, and I think they will look great together in one frame. If someone who is familiar with the show looks at them for more than a few seconds, I’m not sure how they could miss that it’s Don/Dick.
I'd be fine if this is all we get, but I wouldn’t say no to a set with Peggy.

Exactly, and the other telling layer is the fact that he wisely utilized a paper color scheme, that when put together, are quintessential mid-century modern.glenn1 wrote:Love the set, especially “Tomorrow Never Knows” Don, and I think they will look great together in one frame.
