Anyone ever been to Southern Pacific brewing in SF? It's looking like my birthday party is going to be thrown there, and between Beer Advocate and Untappd it looks like the beer is kinda...nothing special. But it's cheap!

Anyone got any info?

I agree with this statement. This years CBS was the fudge. I would have loved to age it for a bit just to see.....

According to my contact the sales reps pushed for no bottles, said that dealing with the bottles last time around was a horrible experience due to price gouging, hoarders, delivery truck following, etc. They were extremely happy that it was keg only so that they could bring people into bars for events vs. hearing all the complaints from people who couldn't get bottles.

I spoke to a rep about at a CBS tapping a few weeks back. He said it's just insanely limited. Apparently some bottles were made available, but not to the public. Only employees were given them as Christmas gifts and whatnot. He said that the place they get their maple syrup barrels from only makes so many barrels of the stuff. So while demand for the stuff has risen, it appears that there isn't a great deal they can do to increase the supply because of these maple syrup barrels.

How's that pronounced? I'd always said it just like it's spelled, like "hose" but with a really hard G...but the bartender that probably knows better said "go-Suh," which either makes sense because it's German or is just pretentious beer snobbery.
