Oof.
His prints for Peter Pan and Wizard of Oz turned out ok to say the least via book approaches...

I'm still excited to see it, but I had my mind set on a movie poster. Generally speaking, it's not a secret the interest from the members here is geared more so towards movie posters than book ones, same goes for my personal collection, so it certainly is disappointing. It doesn't change the fact Laurent probably will deliver a heck of a piece, it's just that it lost most of its chances of getting framed, so I suddenly care way less about it. Never read the book. Never will. Interested to give Shutter Island another viewing though.

Nautilus Art Prints in collaboration with Les Films de Mon Oncle, is proud to announce the first print based on Jacques Tati’s classic movie “Jour de Fête”. Laurent Durieux’s retro-futuristic portrait of François the postman was his very first movie related illustration and is what brought his work some attention. “François à l’Americaine” will be the first of a series. Stay tuned for more details.
Go ahead, make my millennium.

I'm not sure why, but the fact that the right side of the bridge suddenly curves in a little bit towards the end bugs the crap outta me. Also, the big shadow that goes across the bridge doesn't seem to affect the motorcycle or the cars. LD sure takes artistic license with how shadows operate in his posters.
