USPS woes :(
Germany has been taking a long time lately. Had 2 packages go out Dec 11, one just got there and the other has not update since the 30th, when it left Chicago. Just checked both USPS and DHL and the provided same info.
Mine was sitting in customs since Dec 23. Finally updated to processed yesterday, and is now moving in the (DHL) postal system.

Is it possible for a Priority pkg. that the USPS neglects to perform an origin scan on upon acceptance to get scanned & updated with tracking at other points of exchange?

yes, it is.
They should do a scan at every step in it's journey. I did recently receive a tube that only showed that a label had been created. Seems to happen in about one in every ten things I ship...but only with the priciest things of course.Lowbrow-Ink wrote:Is it possible for a Priority pkg. that the USPS neglects to perform an origin scan on upon acceptance to get scanned & updated with tracking at other points of exchange?

So, this is new to me. Should I be worried? Seller is kind of shady-ish when it comes replying to emails.

Since when did USPS put the kaibosh on the $100 free insurance and put it back down to $50? That was short lived

It's odd, but I wouldn't be worried - you're still covered by paypal buyer protection (as there is no proof of delivery) - only thing I'd check is that you gave him the correct address just in case (as, if you didn't, it would be fairly reasonable of the buyer to ask you to pay shipping again).dweebofthedead wrote:So, this is new to me. I fat fingered an address recently and we got the same notice. I left out or mismarked the apt number. We didn't get the yellow ALERT messege, but I suspect that's a new feature. we did get the not deliverable as addressed, but it all worked out. Go to PO and ask a put it.

I just got off the phone with USPS and they said when the package was entered, the correct zip code, 85233, was entered, but the package was attempted to be delivered to zip code 85020?
The lady sounded dumbfounded at what happened. She said I'd have to wait 48-72 hours for an update.

I'm expecting a tube that was shipped at a Brooklyn USPS (3 Day Priority) on Jan 23rd. Tube was not scanned & currently still shows "pre-ship info/label created". Seller said he shipped 7 pkgs. (& 3 of the 7 show no tracking update). He claims this is typical for Brooklyn USPS. A bit of searching in this thread appears to validate that & my guess would be that it's probably sitting in the infamous Bethpage sorting facility. Any thoughts?

Same problem with tube coming out of Brooklyn, priority 2 day ship took 9 days.
