Every print I've ever ordered from 1xRUN Archive Sales were towards the end of the run (#49/50, #148/150, etc)... so they leave 5% aside for shipping damages and then hold them back for the archive sale. No big deal. It's a smart business plan listing them one at a time during the archive sale. Presumably the artists are getting paid after the initial run and this is just 1xRUN selling their copies and maximizing their profits.

Never had anything but good experience from them from shipping to customer service.

The Cryptik mantra for $350 > sold out > re-listed @ $550 yesterday was funny as hell. It has now been lowered back down to $350. I really could care less about their prices but when your entire business model Pitch is "one-time-run and they are gone" is just hilarious and ironic. I mean they may make some money on some of it but I honestly might guess if they never put an end on the "runs" they might sell a lot more of the crap they have piling up in the warehouse. The timers and what not are just silly at this point. Just release a run and leave em up I say...all the lame fudge that never sells and pops up on Archive sales are priced at cost anyway so its just pointless IMO.

I've been tempted to ask a few artists who work with 1X how they feel about their practices. I'm sure if a few artists said something, 1x would start to crumble

I don't think the artists would care too much. The artists get paid for their art initially and may even get a few of the prints to sell for themselves. (Not sure how it works).

1xrun then has their allotment of prints to sell at whatever price and however they want to sell them. I am sure that's all covered in their artist agreement/contract.

The only thing artists would worry about is if 1xrun was not completely upfront on how many prints they would print off, what their initial price point was, or if they would hurt the artists's "brand" by selling the print too low or too high.

I agree with this statement. I have also seen runs not even close to selling out, then after the time runs out, they are considered sold out on the site. You know that if they were selling a run of 60 and only 40 sold, there are going to be 20 prints coming up in Archive Sales.
