A former classmate of mine at USC named Neil Drumming wrote and directed a little independent movie that's up on Netflix called "Big Words". Haven't watched it yet so I'm not sure if it's any good. Neil was a music journalist for Entertainment Weekly for a long time and is an all-around smart/talented guy.
Synopsis:
"Members of a once-promising hip-hop group, now in their late 30's, struggle with regret, disappointment, and change on Election Night 2008."

Don, I'm with you on Two Lovers. Great acting from Joaquin for sure.DonPiano wrote:Much better than She's All That. That's for sure.
I loved it. It's not an easy watch for sure, but it's a great film. If it helps though, my favourite performance of all time (yep, all time) is Joaquin Phoenix in Two Lovers.
I couldn't finish The Immigrant. I might be the only one who finds Marion Cotillard annoying and unbearable to watch; hope Two Days, One Night can finally make me a fan.

I liked Transparent but stopped because I got busy with other things. Going to pick it up again.greenhorn1 wrote:My wife just got Amazon prime. Are any of their exclusive shows worth watching?
Gave that political show with John Goodman a 2 episode chance and hated it, which relaly sucks because I love John Goodman.

Started Broadchurch last night. Want to move to Happy Valley and The Fall next.
Heard BBC stuff is getting stripped from the site by Feb. 1. (?) Oof.

Gotta love brittish tv. Just blasted through black mirror and am searching for more seasons. Also love the fall, and am looking forward to season 2 of that. Now I'm going to have to check out this happy valley business.

It has 2 and a half stars on Netflix but I really enjoyed Scenic Route. Unique for sure and I think it would make an awesome play.

Right? Just finished Happy Valley, and thought it was awesome. I'm 2 episodes into Black Mirror and, wow. I'm speechless after 15 Million Credits. Great stuff. Also looking forward to The Fall season 2, even though it sounds like it's perhaps not as good as the first.bryndavies wrote: Gotta love brittish tv. Other great british shows I've really enjoyed: Luther, Sherlock, The Missing
Because it's the print we deserve, but not the one we need right now. So we'll hunt it.
