The thing with the GID layer is that it's "Matrix text" so it still fits.

Received both the reg and variant a couple of days ago, and finally saw the GID on the variant. It's pretty sweet.

that detail helps thanks to whoever posted and the comparison pic above. will have to see if this one makes sense to +1 down the road a bit. always been a huge fan of the matrix.
