personally I dig Moss' ability to incorporate so much of a story into a simple image. But I can't afford most of his stuff. Do appreciate his work though. His posters convey the story of a film really well, without having to be complicated or excessive. Then again I'm not overly critical of very many artists at all.

What was the guy thinking!? He used Halloween colors for Christ's sake!
I see it, but when I view that print.. all I see is.. I spent about 10 minutes filling in some black steps and sharp angled shadow of a body with hands raised. Sold 350 for 40$ a pop. Now suckers are selling for 300-400 because of the artists name even though the print is probably the weakest out of most of the Moss' I've seen. Just my opinion though. If you enjoy it and find the subtle streaks of black and orange to invoke the inspiring and positive thinking in the print and Rocky movies. Grats:) I just want something a little more visually appealing on my walls.
So is it that you completely missed the clever incorporation of the iconic 'hands punching the air' moment in this composition and the theme of one man reaching his goal or pinnacle in its design?
This is classic Moss, simple but effective.

A lot of minimalist art is poor and wannabe. I'm not impressed with a lot of Olly's work lately, but this is a clever design and image sums up the upward struggle of one man. When I first saw it I was very impressed at how he nailed it. It took him several iterations, he had posted some inferior concepts afterwards which showed him really trying to think this thru as a concept and composition.pisker wrote:Honestly, I agree. I think a lot of moss's work is HIGHLY overrated. so many better artists out there. Then again, that's my opinion... the whole minimalist look doesn't really fly with me as "art."Brian2013 wrote: It's orange with black steps. It's not exactly evoking "amazing" at all.

The Gold in the Rocky 1 is metallic too. A bit in the silver as well.
I hate to sound condescending... which means to talk down to you by the way.

Honestly my biggest critique is the text at the bottom in black is hard to read. It's a dark stock with black ink and you kind of need to be at an angle for it. Mo pointed it out as well.
