i just dropped this off for framing today. i went with a distressed looking frame. should be pretty tight. will post pics in a week or so when i pic it up.

i like no matte most of the time with a decent sized border. gonna be solid. nice.

1/2 inch border on the sides, with 3/4 inch on the top/bottom-

The walnut being used is over 50 years old and is in raw form until he starts to make the frame!

He had some old cherry that I have my eye on too for another print.

And your frames are recycled from tires I presume?

The wood was from my great grandfathers family farm and had been drying for many years safely in my fathers garage. My father is a handy old man.......made the frame who I have also have hiked hundreds of miles with.

So yes, I do feel I nailed the spirit of the print!

Good frame. Any dark natural wood tone would fit this print. Just seems the natural way to go with this print.
How come your white border looks shorter. I hope you didn't go chopping down the print.

That photograph is just the frame sitting on the print- no glass, the print is in a poly bag.

I told my father to leave the glass alone (harder to travel with and he doesnt really know that much about glass-glass is glass to him and I may step up to musuem quality on this one. He spent A LOT of time making this- it was a chunk of wood to begin with- a long 6 X 6.

And bysleightofhand, you are correct, the border appears to be much shorter than the actual print.

The frame is inset and it covers about 1.5 inches of the white border of the print- that was by design.
