I feel like this entire distribution model pushes people in that direction though. Yes I want to legitimately purchase copies from the artist or gallery, but I cant. I can only go to some shlep charging 5000% more. Piracy is used in software to be the great equalizer in terms of limited distribution models. You would think it would crop up in the art world, but perhaps collectors value their own possessions over the enjoyment of the art itself.bulkhead72 wrote:I like tits, but will only download software illegally if I have no alternative (where I grew up, a lot of software was not readily available for purchase, for example).jrsheppa wrote:People probably do. Hence, he sees no problem doing it in another field. Tit for tat.
Ever since moving to the U.S., I have paid for all my software/media, but I know not everyone has the same stance on this.
If the OP wants the legit Moss SW set, he needs to save up, just like everyone else here that wants to get a big ISO.
Or, he can go to the Dark Side and print some up I suppose. Might feel hollow inside though.
Ah this is true. High-res scans should only be available for personal use if the artist consents to it. I know some artists who sell limited prints have stated they don't mind people making reproductions for personal use.danieldanger wrote:the artists are very very very much going to care if theres hi-res versions of their work online. dont ever do this unless you want calls from my lawyer.

I figured a thread that provides a platform for the discussion of limited edition art would be at home in a discussion forum for limited edition art collectors. Especially when I'm trying to get information from this group of collectors.rubberneck wrote:Troll thread should be deleted...
Given the vitriol from the members of this community and trolling responses like memes and gifs, the thread should probably be closed. If only because it illustrates how bad some of the members of the community are.
Meh, there was a nugget of decent conversation in there somewhere.
And hey, OP may be a legit, complete newbie to this, may not be trolling if it's just ignorance.

How about you buy the prints you like and can afford? Plenty to go around.

Information is one thing. Requests for images for bootleg releases is another.rerocustom1989 wrote:I figured a thread that provides a platform for the discussion of limited edition art would be at home in a discussion forum for limited edition art collectors. But now I'm just feeding the trolls. Best to just go back to the bear...
