gambit's flat file
Finished up the Flat File today. Ran into some issue with the screws that came with the handles, they were a bit long and I had to cut them down a bit, but in the end they turned out just fine. Really happy with the final product and for the ability to put this project to an end. Wanted to take a quick second to thank mcgraw23 for all his help and iambillyg for his advice. Enjoy the final product.

Funny how a simple change, like hardware, can make such a significant difference.
Looks good, man. Congrats.

Looks great. Well done. I finally picked up a cabinet myself which will need a bit of TLC to get it ready to use. Threads like this are a good source for some great ideas.

Yeah, I got a lot of my ideas from the threads here as well as asking questions. Good luck on your project and start a thread, definitely want to see how it comes along.duckyhoward wrote:Looks great. This is really beautiful! I love the glass display top, although I agree regarding an earlier comment calling it a "heart attack waiting to happen." As long as you don't have a fudge ton of little kids running around your apartment though, it should be ok and it really is a nice way to display prints without framing all of them at once.

haha yeah no kids around here, that is why I am not too worried about getting stuff spilled on it. just me and the gf. but i snagged this flat file off of craigslist and it was pretty cheap.
I know billy has one for sale, that has the same dimensions, all you would need to do is redo the top and add a glass one.
