I should go ahead and add this to my collection. I'm going to Austin for the show come hell or high water. It will be mine. It's a cool subject and masterfully done as one would expect. It's getting to the point that the cost of Laurent's posters isn't the expensive part at all...it's the framing and need for a bigger house with more walls to hang his stuff. This one is frameworthy for sure.
I used to be a collector...now I'm a hoarder.

Best FP screen print to evoke the wonder and awe as promised by MGM back in the day...

The variant is my pick for best in show. The JPEGs do not do this print justice.

Laurent mentioned this last night when talking about the print, who else picked it up?
Yeah, the GID is the monster. It's drymounting awesome, I'll try and get a pic when it has absorbed enough light to show up in a picture.rubberneck wrote:

Yes, looms right above Professor Morbius's house on the variant print.ONEYE wrote:Really? The Id monster is there?rubberneck wrote:Laurent mentioned this last night when talking about the print, who else picked it up?
So much of the detail in the final poster image is also visible in the pencil drawing.
I am not a visual artist, only an appreciator, yet I wonder if working out an image in the small scale helps the illustrator maintain a sense of creative discipline during the development and composition of an image?

Damn, I just can't see it!
