I am having a real hard time deciding which one I like better. I kind of like the gold better based on pictures but the silver would match the room I would hang it in better.

I'd advise you to go with silver if you're positive it's going up on the wall. The look in situ is so important and too often neglected.
Go with the gold if you're adding it to the flatfile and it's the one you prefer on its own.
