Does one building over 30 storeys count as a skyline? - probably not.rubberneck wrote:Churches don't count either...mrkyuss wrote:Didn't think Adelaide had a skyline?duckyhoward wrote:
I think I blinked and then the button disappeared and then sold out. oh well. it's only a skyline of Melbourne after all. Now if it was the skyline of Adelaide that would make it a must have.
edit:
congrats to those who scored AND will keep this one.

If you are already over it you didn't want it that bad to begin with. So probably good that you didn't get one.agzaker wrote:Rebafeind wrote:meh, i am already over it, onto the next drop!gorkie wrote:It sucks that there are a lot of Geddes fans out there who didn't get this print today because a flipper who wanted to post it for sale the very same day got it instead.

I'm +1 so anything I say is hypebeast OMG SHUTUP HYPEBEAST GUYgorkie wrote:It sucks that there are a lot of Geddes fans out there who didn't get this print today because a flipper who wanted to post it for sale the very same day got it instead.
But I've listed prints right after a drop so all I can really say is that I think this print will be ridiculously nice and for me the only Geddes print that rivals it is the large version of Heat Death. People don't realize how much 44" is until they get it rolled out in person. Wood's INSB is 44" and it was a behemoth in person.
I assume that most insta-flippers just really need $400, but this print is somewhat significant in that it is a departure from the current "let's make it an edition of 300 because people will buy it anyways" trend and if the past has been any indicator, it will be drymounting amazing in person. I applaud Jeremy and Soph for making that decision for their product, and recognizing and being okay with the probable backlash rather than just following the current trend... I think that it adds to the hobby in a good way.
Sure, there is definitely frustration, but it helps our art collecting hobby (see: addiction) in the end by getting people to crack open their collections and trade stuff.
I don't take issue with people who list it in the WT section without a price; I've done so with some prints just to see what the Match Maker tool would spit out... not everyone has my taste so it's dumb to assume the actions of other members here would reflect my wants.
People will be mad, but had I missed this print I was ready to spend at least $1000 on the aftermarket, especially given the edition size and even moreso, the artist.
