This movie has a happy ending. On the Empire poster the character lineup is at the bottom of the poster and they are all "bad guys" or people who betrayed the rebels and this goes well with the tone and ending of Empire as the Universe is in disarray. On the Jedi poster the characters are good again and they are back on the top of the poster. Stout even shows Vader and Lando's redemption and includes them with the good guys. Genius design and a great way to switch up the titles and make them appealing to the eye instead of having them all at the bottom.
I never picked up on that. Fantastic, well observed.

To summarize your aesthetic comments in another way:

Stout are the kitchen sink, nerdgasm of Star Wars. Observers lean in to soak up the detail and have their memory jolted by each scene and character.

Moss are the cool clean iconic representation of the saga, a summation in one image. Observers smile and admire the cleverness of the artist.

I prefer Stout's Star Wars set.
Without a doubt.
You guys are serious?
Add me to the dead serious list. Not the greatest Mondo Star Wars posters (I also prefer the Stouts), not even the best Moss posters (Evil Dead and Totoro for me).

both are awesome. Saying one is 'clearly' better than the other is poppycock.

Interesting that Struzan's Thing is included. I know Mondo released it as a print, but it's not really a "Mondo poster" like all the others.

Lobbying hard for 20K which I felt was robbed last year. Just a thought, I know its a bracket style tourney but maybe it would've been neat to have catergories as well? Like biggest surprise artist/film pairing or most likely to be used as the Criterion cover? Just my two cents have fun voting peeps! :pint:

I didn't until I saw both in the flesh and now I do (except for Luke in the Empire poster who just looks sweaty and unwell)

I'm a tad confused.

At the end of this week, are we going to vote on the first round of 2011 Mondo prints, or the second round of the 2012 prints?

Next week we are going to vote on the second round of the 2012 prints. Once this bracket has been determined, we move on to 2011. The whole process should take around six months to determine the all time fan favorite print by Mondo. Don't know if you saw this or not, but you can read more on it here:
