I've actually never heard this band, but I will have to check them out now. Killer illustration as usual.

Boy, it sure is stupid to add these prints to the database long before anyone's even seen it. No dimensions, no idea of an edition size...all it does is populate the Art Comments thread with "wow I like it" and the rocking-out smiley...which is what Anything Goes threads are for, right?

This is why these art comments threads go 50 pages deep with little said that relates to the actual print...like this message.

So people have to actually see the printed artwork before they can comment on it? Guess noone better take art history class.

No, I'm just saying that nothing said in the early days of these threads is of any use later. And we still have no information regarding the actual print, other than that it will eventually exist. These aren't Art Comment-type comments, it's just buzz, hype, and uninformed opinion. And, since this thread description ends with "Off-topic posts may be purged," I'm just positing that a lot of these problems would end if there's a rule like "nothing added until a sale date is announced," or "no new gig art until the show," or "all new art must have all information, like dimension and edition size."

I actually come to art comments for art comments - real-life reaction, problems with the edition, process info, on sale dates, questions and answers. None of that exists yet, and in a year, two, or ten we shouldn't have to scan 20 pages of thread to find any useful comments.

compliments for the piece is one of the main purposes of the Art Comments section.

the real culprit in extending the thread with useless information will be the "is everyone ready for the on-sale," "i can't get through to the site," "i just got through but don't have my confirmation," "i just got a paypal confirmation but don't have a burlesque confirmation," "i got shut out wahhh," "my tube arrived damaged" play-by-play...
