Hi, been a while. I finally got a hold of the owner of the shop(Gregory & Falk) that printed the yellow bg105 and got a little more information on the poster, not a lot though. Apparently a customer(he couldn't remember the customer name) had commissioned a poster to be made and on the day that they were to proof it, the lead printer accidentally used the yellow for the background instead of the red. Typically they would destroy the poster, but when they asked the customer, he said to keep it if they want. The poster is definitely a Chromalin proof. Really wish he could have remembered the customer, really the last piece of the puzzle.

1 yellow. As far as what for and how many of the final poster(s) were made is still a mystery. The shop owner asked me if the poster had who the poster was printed for in the lower left. I told him there wasn't anything there. He was surprised and said that the proof must have been made before they put that on.Rick_a_c wrote:Sweet! So, there's only 1?
When I took the poster down to the Poster show in SF, Dennis Loren took a magnifying glass to it and said that as far as he could tell the proof was made from the actual negatives and not negatives made from taking a photo of the original. Don't know what that actually means though.
To date the poster still lives in the frame my dad put around it, so all guesswork has been done looking through glass etc. Thinking I may break it open soon.

I was digging around on the internets and I noticed that the Postcard(OPC-A) in the this listing http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/jimi-hend ... BG105.html has the 105 in just about the exact same spot as my yellow. I wonder if they could be related somehow. As in, could the negatives used in the original have been used for this poster set???tspringett wrote:Hi, been a while. Ok, sorry for all the posts, but I feel like there may be a break in the case. I was able to get a larger picture of the postcard and did a stare and compare and think that the two definitely are related somehow.
1. Position of 105 in relation to "Ticket"
2. Angle of 105 to "Ticket" They are not exactly paralleled to each other
3. The distance of the bottom text to the word "Days"
4. The way the text at the bottom caves towards the center

Hi - newbie here. Apologize for placing this in wrong thread before. I could use some help on this BG 105 2nd.
Hi - I have what I believe is a second print of the Hendrix BG105 poster and shave some concerns about the dimensions. The width is 13 3/4 and height is 21 1/2. Everywhere I read it states it should be 14 x 21 3/4 or 14 x 21 11/16. As far as I can see the paper is correct. Does not appear to be trimmed. The 5 in 105 is behind (or in front) of the T. The dot structure in the blue which fades to white is very fine and pronounced. The poster is nearly mint. Very clean. Do the dimensions create an issue that is concerning??? Thanks.
