I've NEVER had that happen in 5+ years of purchasing prints until the Acedia drop so no, it didn't hold up well...aldo wrote:Those who didn't even see a Purchase button wouldn't really agree with the servers holding up well. Something was up and it sucked to not even see the button.

a timed release looks like it's popular but we can't do that for every release
are there any other ways to do limited editions so it doesn't end up in a flippers paradise?
today's greatest living artist Banksy releases all of his prints via lottery. I think that's the way to go. PM sent with further details...
Sure scares the flippers!entropy wrote:soph, soph wrote:So a lottery is not the pancea we thought it was - there you go.

This is probably going to be shot down because of logistics etc. but I reckon it will be pretty cool if preference is given to buyers that can prove that they still have previously bought prints in hand or on the their wall (doesn't matter if you've only bought APV, for example, if you can prove you still have it it gets you on the list).
That way the true collectors will end up with some of the prints...It might be a little biased on my end, but hey, I just want to keep collecting Jeremy's work...

So, basically, only the people who own Geddes prints should be allowed to purchase Geddes prints?fordwd wrote:This is probably going to be shot down because of logistics etc. but I reckon it will be pretty cool if preference is given to buyers that can prove that they still have previously bought prints in hand or on the their wall (doesn't matter if you've only bought APV, for example, if you can prove you still have it it gets you on the list).

Recon it works pretty good as it is now, a large edition means a pretty good chance at the score, still around 50 on the Bay/Beanz for sale so prices should drop a bit for anyone who really wants it. What Ducky said is best Idea, AU first cause of our third world interwebs, rest latersoph wrote:I'm also thinking we need to find a different way to do the releases. I've reached the end of my tether with speculators and flippers.
Jem and i have been talking about a lottery approach. Some way where people register their interest and are then selected at random. Is this preferable?
If anyone has a fool proof method or knows someone who does it well, or has a suggestion for a completely different approach, please PM me.
Sorry to bombard everyone like this - new year's just a good time for getting all the ducks in order
