Man, that thing is framed already! Did you see photos? If you give me your personal e-mail address, I can send you some no problemo.

What happened to the other type of shipping insurance carrier?

It looks as if you can still add insurance it just doesn't say if its USPS insurance or not.

I noticed that this morning when I did a shipment. Not sure if they got rid of their insurance, haven't had time to look at it.

The insurance offered not is still through USPS, it reflects on the label.

Any hint at trying to get around something and you are pretty much guaranteed to loose. I had someone ask me to set it to a low value, and send as gift as well. Just told them that to comply with eBay and Paypal rules, I had to declare the correct amount and that this was merchandise or both the seller/buyer guarantee was at risk of being voided. Once they realize that they would actually loose money if something goes wrong, they are good with the VAT after that.
Just to point out, its not the VAT that most people find annoying, its that you get charged a handling fee by the postal service that is often as high as if not higher than the VAT charge - plus it delays getting hold of your item etc. its a serious pain in the butt for what must be really trivial amounts of tax recovered in the scheme of things.

USPS insurance is still available but you have to un-check the 3rd party insurance to see the option.

I just tried to send some money via Paypal to a friend using the personal/gift option and it wants to charge me a fee. Anyone else experience this?
