A couple of board members and I recently acquired an identical set of flat files that we plan on fixing up separately. I thought it would be fun to post some process pics and see how they turn out. Hopefully the other 2 will join in here.

Looking really good (completely w/ you on the veneer). However, do you have to be out of that room before Wednesday's bingo night?

Seriously, awesome to have so much room for the refinishing project. Kudos and curious to see the progress.

How many flatfiles do you have? Seems like you're always buying them

Yeah, that's the pathetic "party room" at the movie theater I work at. I have 2 weeks to finish and get out.

Ha. This makes two. Once I'm done with this, I may have to make a tough choice on which one to keep.

Day 1. (Sorry for the iPhone pics) 104 degree day made this fun.

So far, I've sanded/stained two drawers. Sanded one additional drawer and have two more to go. Once they're all sanded/stained, another round of sanding and additional stain then I should be good.

You did wipe the stain off once you put it on right? Or is this one of those stain/poly mixes?
