Not much happening yet, but two of my favorites are going at a Codeine poster. Woo.

And you thought Horkey + Ryan was an odd pairing... These guys' pieces couldn't be any more different.

Really looking forward to seeing this. Both are distinctive on their own, these three together should be a treat.

The original pic on which the print will be based. Dan said that it will look a lot different when done. I have no doubts...

After recomposing, I did a nine-color separation for screenprint. This took about two and a half working days, during which I listened to a hell of a lot of Codeine. In particular, the first 2 songs on the Barely Real EP are very much in this image. "Realize" for its humid density of sound, and "Jr." for the imagery and sense of location.

I can't wait to see what Nick and Nadine do to it.

Great info in the GP thread. Much more than can be imported here (without just copying the entire thread...and that would just be silly). Dan (Crosshair) is a wealth of expertise and a real screen printer's screen printer. One of my favorite bits so far, regarding the last pic that fredo posted above:
I never use gray made from just black & white. The cloud grays are very purple, and this one has a lot of Raw Umber in it. None of them contain more than a few drops of black, if any.

Tix still available for the Chicago show, tonight at Lincoln Hall.

It's early...opener at 7, Codeine probably onstage by 8:15.

If you're in Chicago, just go. Don't worry if you've never heard of the band.

Posters will be cheap at the show. More expensive afterwards, by a factor greater than the price of admission.

Just go.
