Funkrush - using Olly Moss' name & art to rip people off
I'm calling this drymounter out because he clearly used Olly's name to make a cash grab, didn't treat this business with the minimum of respect it deserves, and is now trying to duck out on responsibilities that he has accepted in public and in personal message in order to avoid paying money he owes to customers who got screwed by him.
Long story short:
I ordered two 88 ghosts prints as gifts
They showed up in shoddy tubes, but the real problem is that they weren't put in the tubes with any protection
They showed up damaged - bent corners, bends throughout the prints, edge damage (most likely from when they were put in the tube without craft paper or any other kind of protection)
I requested a refund through paypal, sent links to pictures of damage through paypal
Refund request was denied by Funkrush/Friendrise, even though he said in Olly's thread that "if its damaged please provide photo's and will get you refunded straight away" (http://forum.expressobeans.com/viewtopi ... 0#p1404760), and said that in public on this forum after I got stuck with having to escalate my claim via paypal (his post re: refunds was made on the 30th, I escalated my claim on the 28th)
Because he refused my claim, I now have to send the prints back, and he verified that he wanted the prints back via PM here on EB, stating that he would would pay the return shipping costs, although he takes a full day to respond to each email sent; paypal is now insisting that I provide tracking info for the returned prints in order to get a refund, as well as telling me that I have to cover return shipping costs, when I shouldn't have to pay a dime on return shipping since these were wrecked as soon as they were tubed.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want the prints and couldn't care less where they end up at this point, but asking me to go through the headache of doing his work for him, which entails packing these back up, figuring up the cost, filling out international shipping paperwork for both prints, and just generally wasting a shitload of time on something totally not worth it is lame as hell. I told him about how Mondo had customers make videos of them destroying prints that Mondo was going to replace, and have yet to hear back about that idea, but posting a video of these getting torched (which would actually make the run as a whole more valuable, if anyone cares) would be far better use of everyone's time.
I won't even deny it, my PM's to this guy have gotten progressively uglier because he is completely ducking his responsibility, and is trying to put off refunding me as long as he can.
I'd post the guys name, but I know it's against the rules...however, you can find his name on Google, just look up Funkrush, it's easy to get all of this info, and at the very least use it to avoid this guy and any other bullshit scams he might be cooking up.
And if Funkrush is reading this, he needs to get on the ball, respond to my PM's in a timely fashion, and come up with my refund "straight away", as he stated he would for anyone who provided photos of damage, which I did.

This 'quick cash grab' for him must be turning into a bit more of a headache. Good.

It's pretty lame on his part, that's for sure - I don't think he understands that we can see when other people have read our PM's here, and I know he's reading mine. Dude is seriously ducking all of this, and it's my belief that he won't be back here to do what's right...anyone who has been screwed by this guy is never going to get taken care of.

he didn't send one package with delivery confirmation (as mine is nowhere to be found, and he can't furnish any tracking details)= paypal requirement.
file a claim for non-receipt.

I'm just noticing that, and that makes it even worse - the dude not only is ripping people off on the product, but he's ripping people off on his own postage policy? Doesn't that mean he's defrauded his entire customer base? Saying that you're going to provide a certain postage policy and then skimping on it so you can make even more money is super-slimy.Chico wrote:lme7 wrote:It's pretty lame on his part, that's for sure - I don't think he understands that we can see when other people have read our PM's here, and I know he's reading mine. yeah all the way to mcdonalds. wasn't these only £15 each ? He's hardly running away to vegas to blow the millions on whores. Guy just didn't know what he let himself in for when entered into the land of the collectors
Mint prints mint prints mint prints
from printing to end user, don't achieve this and prepare for a witchunt, probably just burying his head in the sand atm

Actually, after it's all said and done, the total amount this guy took in before shipping costs (which he skimmed on) is over $5,000 US...even after costs, I'd estimate he made around $4,500 - not saying it's millions, but a con job is a con job, and $4,500 collectively is nothing to just blow off, especially since he's just a glorified printer and didn't contribute a single pixel to this art. Dude deserves to be called out, and should give back every penny he scammed on his bullshit print sale...I mean, if he had only spent a couple of bucks on craft paper, most of these would have showed up fine, and no one would have a problem. Rookie mistake, which he should be fixing, and there's no call for the way he's handling this now.Gavatron wrote:yeah all the way to mcdonalds. wasn't these only £15 each ?
