I don't even see how this is considered a horkey ripoff. really? I think that's a huge stretch.

The colors + the lettering + the scene = someone elses style.

Not a big deal if Buddich and others hadn't done the same thing prior. If one thing was different I don't think there would be question, but combining all of those elements smells of imitation.

It's just a close up of a branch...

Sperry has a lot of Malleus influence here and there, especially the Deftones Sac...
Rick Griffin is the cornerstone of imitation....Tong has his own style if you ask me.
Malleus nudies don't equal Sperry nudies, different style. This is the same style.

I was talking about Sperry and the hair he did for the Deftones.... similar to Malleus.
In fact I think Chuck had just come back from Italy.

Tong's poster is excellent.
It's not a Horkey rip off...
It reminds me a little of Ken Taylor as well... love it.
I surely hope people can do detailed foliage without getting ragged on.

detailed foliage is cool....detailed foliage, a lot of brown, and detailed lettering belongs to someone else

Shallow statement.
Add in the fact that the font looks like Sudyka and it is ridiculous.

Dibs on green foliage.

Tong killed this as usual. One of the best gp artists going.
The black keys suck anymore, though.

took a fifth look. not as horkey as I thought. It's a great print with a great image that just happens to resemble someone else.

I don't know Tong's stuff well, but this could well be one of the top 3 prints of the tour.

It is one of those prints that remind me of lots of artists... Taylor, Sudyka, and Horkey...
Makes it more confusing when you can't peg it as a Tong at first glance too.
