You can't really put Lazarides on blast over shipping prices, right? He's one of the biggest figures in New Contemporary art, worldwide...the guy put Banksy on the map. I mean, what artist wouldn't want to work with Lazarides?

I've been pressing Brett for a really good pic (I want to put the print in the database) but we probably have to wait for Laz to do it...I might get to his studio this weekend, if I do he has an A/P there that I can shoot and then we'll finally have a pic. We'll see how it goes.

It aint just the shipping cost. Its his/their prices on everything. I mean I understand the dude is one of the guys that brought the whole urban art thing to the forefront, but they consistently price their stuff a significant percentage over what most others would sell the same works by an artist for. Just leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

At the same time, I totally get why any artist would like to be affiliated with Laz. To some extent, its instant credibility to a whole genre of art collectors. Who wouldn't want that?

Run of only 50, pretty decent size print, handfinishing, Lazarides, etc... No way these are less than $200, probably closer to $300.

i am a total newb about the whole export tax thing, but would it be feasible to place an order for several prints as a group and bypass that, or is it based on value?

Turns out this is a screenprint, I'd been assuming giclee this whole time. Brett said it's only the 2nd screenprint he ever did, the other coming from Post No Bills.

I'll get pics of one up in a few hours, camera batteries charge slowly...
