What's the story with the variants? Are they separate runs?

no doubt it will keep a few people away - but i am sure it will disappear just a quickly as most of his others.
850 x 95 = $80,750 - plus 4 x $4000 ($16,000) for the variants. Total -$96,750 not bad

$850 for the regular print is already ridiculously expensive...
... but $4k for the variants? For that price -- or less -- I've seen signed, editioned Harings, Warhols, and Lichtensteins offered, as well as signed and limited exhibition lithographs from Picasso and Matisse. I like MBW's stuff, but frankly, his prices shouldn't be comprable to those of artists who are 1)much more historically significant; 2)acknowledged masters of their genres; and 3)dead.
The scary thing is that these prints (not his most inspired IMHO) will probably sell out instantly despite the fact that there are earlier, better MBWs available for much less on the secondary market.
But then again, maybe he's just trying to insure that only his fans get this print -- at $850 minimum and an unwieldy, not-easily-frameable 32"x40," this sucker's gonna be hard for the flippers to move.

I have spent 90% of my money on women and wine..........the rest i wasted.
I personally think this is one of the worst MBW prints ever.
