Let me break it down for you.
85 people will frame this and hang it in their home
65 will try to buy this just to flip it for an extra $50
35 people will put it between two sheets of foamcore and keep it under their bed
215 will store it in the tube for a couple years

I don't think he was complaning - I think he was just asking if this was normal for josh. or I could be wrong?
Absolutely. Just look at the price of Keyes prints w/ similar runs on the secondary market (Sowers, Last Kiss). The size of this just makes a failip more likely. I'll be happy to buy this one from a failipper if I don't score on the drop. FYI for those looking to flip: this is bigger than Sowers and Sowers is selling for less than face a year later, so you may not want to invest in this. Personally, I'm all for the increased print runs. Thanks Josh!therivler1 wrote:I have no doubt it will sell out immediately, but at an edition size of 350, I think these will be available after the dust settles.

This image is much stronger than sowers...also the flaking issues really hurt the flip on Sowers/Kiss. I wouldn't sleep on this drop if you want this.

SInce I have only been buying prints seriously for two weeks now. I just did not know. I got the email, and I thought wow, 350 run. As I like his stuff and have not gotten any yet, but the things I was trying to buy were in the 15 - 100 range on print run.
Ahah, love it. Knowing this is not enough. To actually see the breakdown is a total reality check. Werd (Weird, word, whatever).electrachrome wrote:Let me break it down for you.

but where do the extra 50 prints come from?
I agree it's a stronger image, but I still doubt it will be flip-worthy given the edition and print size. I'm obviously going for this from source (and I passed on Sowers), as I would like it framed on my wall at work, but I doubt it will be difficult to score on the secondary market at a reasonable price. The flippers aren't going to be happy is all I'm saying. The true Keyes fans will be happy no matter how the secondary market goes as it should be.sixstringer wrote:This image is much stronger than sowers...also the flaking issues really hurt the flip on Sowers/Kiss. Why does every discussion revolve around the flipping aspect?
And inevitably there is always some folks that say the piece won't do fudge in the aftermarket. Most of the time they're wrong too. Are y'all just trying to deter flippers by throwing them off or something?

the fact is that because of the size of the piece many wont get framed, this leads to more being resold and lower prices
Art comes alive in the arguments you have about it
Not sure, all I know is my predictions on short term value are usually spot on. I could hand draw that slumping curve easily.phubar2 wrote:Why does every discussion revolve around the flipping aspect?

Oh and wanna talk about the art? I find my eye way too attracted by the jumping one in the middle of the pack.
He seems to be coming out of nowhere like.. ''TA-DAAA!!!''
