I traded up for one of these and I am so excited to get it my head is about to explode. It's one of mine and my father's favorite movies of all time. It turned me onto science fiction as a kid and my Dad is such a huge fan. To have one of these really means a lot to me. It might sound corny, but this is a print I will quite literally cherish for a very very long time. And having it printed on wood just makes it all that more meaningful.

Agreed. The Apes films were a huge part of my childhood when the series were shown on local tv over 5 Friday nights and blew my mind as a kid.

The opening scene of Escape, when the astronauts took off their helmets and were revealed as apes is something I can still remember being completely stunned at....

Delighted to also be able to trade up for one of these wood variants.

I really hope the prequel invokes some of the wonder and excitement of this classic series...

I just saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes with my father over the weekend. We were not disappointed. It was the best blockbuster we've seen so far in the summer of 2011. And yes, it pays homage to the original series in several smart and surprising ways.

The wood variant sold for $130 at Comic-Con, the standard version hasn't been released yet if that's what you were wondering about.
