I need help from a mod.
I bought a poster.
The seller told me “ Chuck clearly had some screenprinting imperfections with some slight, I guess, fading? Just not as glittery, “
But it’s the same condition as it came from Chuck.
He said , here’s some pictures.
But there wasn’t a link. It was odd.
So I never saw pictures.
But… I didn’t push for pictures like I should have.
Because we were skipping PayPal fees… the seller trusted me to send the print first without payment.
Upon receiving, would send via friends and family.
So, being covered financially and hearing it came directly from Chuck, I simply agreed. How bad could it be? The price was great.
The poster came and it definitely had printing imperfections. It was in poor condition with sharp corners and smooth edges.
I told the seller I should have asked for pictures instead of agreeing blindly.
He was confused … rightly so.
He send me an old Sept 13th message with the link for pictures!
Plain as day.. a message sent to me that I didn’t receive.
The seller is very understanding…
My reputation is everything.
But I am really curious and confused why I didn’t get the message.
Can someone who has access to messages shed some light on this?
I don’t know what to do:
The poster was $300 shipped.
It’s not worth $100.
The seller paid $36 to ship it to me.
So if i paid for the return shipping, and his shipping I’m out over $50!
It’s all so weird and drymounted.
Need help/ advice… thanks!
Missing Message/ I’m a bad trader!
Years ago at a San Rafael event, I bought from Chuck a couple of older prints with light scuffing in the silvers. He told me the silver metallics from that period tended to be a bit fragile and more susceptible to scratches and scuffing than later inks. I don’t mind the scuffing so much but I guess the scratches would bother me. All in all, still a lovely print.
That Philadelphia black keys…
I’m pretty sure only a handful are in mint condition.
The lady has lines / scuffs throughout the neck area.
I’m surprised a few I saw were allowed to leave the studio.
We worked it out … seller was very understanding.
I screwed myself but it is what it is.
Still so unsettling how that one msg never reached me. So weird.
