Hello,

I'm interested in buying second-hand prints from Expressobeans and I have a few questions.

The seller I am in correspondence with insists on using Paypal Friends. Should I be suspicious?

Is haggling considered rude?

Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend friends and family,
Offer to cover the fees instead. Never be afraid to negotiate.

If you click on the person's user name you can also check their feedback on the site from previous buyers and sellers. I think it's good to see how much experience the seller has. I have bought from sellers with very little feedback but too many people have been taken with the friends and family option. It's sad. Always get the paypal buyer protection.

I always ask “recently” joined members, overseas members or members with a weird ask (send it to my girlfriend’s house!) to pay friends and family.

Because when you’re here, you’re family.

And I don’t trust you.

You can trust me though.

But everyone else, wouldn’t trust em.

My favorite part is "second-hand prints." Makes it sound like used underwear.

I don't think you should be suspicious. Dude is just trying to avoid paying PayPal. If you offer to increase the buying price to cover the G&S Fees and he is STILL pushes for F&F, then I'd run.

As for the rest... if you want to try to make a deal, haggle away. If you don't feel comfortable, walk away.

F&F offers a chance for our community to grow on trust among entrenched, committed personalities. I preferred eliminating the technoprince as I know and trust myself to send it right and stand behind it, refund if even just a whim and returned safely. We're all human beings and we all have a chance to stay or leave here and any place. Unfortunately, monetized ignorance is part of any hobby's profit, and shysters come and go (or stay and get voted things lol). For those that understand the nature of community and what we require to remain a cohesive, functional society, one where supporting the artists and their collectors means more than a hustled theft or two before outed and ousted. Fortunately there's the 'noob' flair that prevents this in part. There's one born every minute, though, and these days everyone's a monetized ignoramus. The days of 'PPFF' (with anyone but me, natch) may have followed the dodo onto the endangered list.
