What on the current EB site needs fixing?
It's been slow for me today as well.
I'm new here (and to collecting posters) but have two decades experience working on forums and websites. My guess is your forum software is running on a different server/database because it's staying speedy. On the other server where the collection info is run, see if you can spot any unusually long SQL queries. At least on my sites, when they would bog down like that, it was often a slow query that would create a bottleneck and then everything would stack up behind it and timeout.
This is a cool community and resource. I'm looking forward to digging in more. PM me if I can be of any assistance.

Was slow the past few days. Today some threads are and some aren’t. Particularly mondo thread is impossible to enter, lol.
I have been trying to update my collection. I think I noticed when the server shits the bed. Moving from page to page within the collection section of the site works great. When I do a search, it instantly grinds to a halt. IMO, there might be an issue related to search.
On my sites in the past this could be a corrupted table or bad index for searching. It's been some years since I have worked on the stuff myself but when I did, I would run a repair/optimize on the crashed table to get it working again. You might have a search index where that might help?
For now I will stay out of search so it doesn't crash things (sorry).

Always seem to happen at the end of the year, site just slows down.
Has EB used up it's internet quota for the year and getting throttled ?

If this helps with the diagnosis at all
Pretty much anytime now that I go to My Page I get a gateway timeout error, if I go there from the forum or the home page, but once I’ve gotten that error I can refresh the page and it pops right up and the page then works fine.

seems like there are a ton of searches being done which is bogging the db down... will take a look this week hopefully.
thanks for the insight AndyRobo.

rebooted the database. not sure what caused it to get stuck in a rut but the cpu usage was through the charts. resource usage looks back to normal now. will make a note in the future to look there in case this crop up again.
thanks for reporting the issues and your continued support of ebeans and weathering through the occasional hiccups. gets a little harder during the holidays to spend time debugging whats wrong.
