"The idea of Jack standing next to Superman's Fortress of Solitude came from late night discussions with Rob. You can see in the preliminary sketch how much the structure looked like the Richard Donner version early in the life of the project. It wasn't until I got away from the sketch and began experimenting layering crystal ice structures on top of one another that things started feeling right. The key shape used to frame the type is a direct nod to the comics. For me, the image is really about isolation at its core."
