Perfect opportunity to play some Danzig in that final scene.

I wish I had read the books just for the Theon part. Only so I'd of not been waiting. An entire season to reveal exactly what I thought from the start? The only real reveal was duder's first name.

Sweet episode though, the Theon gripe is mostly my anger with the season's end. I dug Sam meeting Bran, but I wanted to see the rat monster more.

As one of the book readers, I really don't get the decision to hide Ramsay Snow's identity for the entire season. He was mentioned only once last year by Roose Bolton as "I'll send my bastard son to reclaim Winterfell" or whatever. After nearly a year, do you think the average TV watcher is going to remember that? What's the point. It's not some huge revelation or anything.

Whereas in the book you pretty much knew who it was immediately.

Dramatic effect? It had none IMO

not a bad way to finish the season off. would have been nice for bran and john to cross paths and actually see each other- but that would be too positive. nice that arya got to lay waste to one of the frey stooges.

Ramsey actually reveals himself in A Clash of Kings, the second book and it it is a real WTF! moment. Worth reading.
Show wise I think revealing who he was sooner would have tipped the viewer too much to Roose's potential villianary at the RW.
Especially after Roose told Robb the Ironborn/Theon got away. Theon is basically his house sigil at this point.

He needs a role in the last Hobbit film. I don't care as who, he just needs to be an evil little drymount

I could have swore I read an interview with the show producers before the start of the season that all this stuff with Theon was written in by them ... or at least embellished from the books ... because they loved what the actor did with Theon so much last season they wanted to keep him around this year.

If this is true ... what a giant drymounting waste of screen time this torture porn storyline is. At least that's how it seems to me right now.

In the books...
all that and worse is inflicted upon Theon by Ramsay, only you don't have a Theon POV in book three, so you hear all about it after-the-fact in book four. There's no first-hand recount of it like "So today I woke up and Ramsay gelded me." So yeah, a lot of it was written in by Dan and D.B. and crew, but those scenes are pretty much exactly what I imagined while reading the books. Ramsay is a sick, twisted, cruel posterkiller, and don't you forget it.

I just wonder how much further they're going to take it :pint:
