Watched the Director's Cut of STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON last night (first time seeing this version of the film). Not a whole lot was added to it other than maybe some more nudity. However, this is definitely one of the better musical biopics in recent memory. These can be hit or miss for me. RAY I didn't care for, even though Jamie Foxx won an Oscar for it; NOTORIOUS and ALL EYEZ ON ME sucked IMO. Whereas STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON, WALK THE LINE and BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY are some of the better ones. Looking forward to ROCKETMAN later this year!

Columbus with John Cho. I’ve had two traumatic pet losses in the last 3 months (one just last night) and wasn’t sure if I was in the mood to watch anything tonight. It’s zenlike and kind of therapeutic for me right now. Architecture and soul searching, a nice combination for soothing the soul in my current state. The cinematography is icing on the cake.

Finally watched Into the Spiderverse last night. Not a superhero/Marvel fanboy but that's easily my favorite film in that universe.

Just finished "Life" (the alien one, not the Eddie Murphy Martin Lawrence one which is great). Was better than I thought it would be despite being very generic..

BIG LITTLE LIES is back on HBO. Really enjoyed the first season and wondering if Season 2 will be able to keep the pace? First episode was good so far!

Saw a 35MM print of Point Break last night at MOMI, introduced by Stephen Cone.

Didn't know that prints of it are so rare and hard to get, such a fun screening.

Not Cinemax, because it's no longer a channel. Just on demand now, going by the name Hitz.

We're still going to make popcorn, just no more airplanes.
