Thankful Archive 81 wasn't another throwaway Netflix show, very well put together. Good atmosphere

Ran through those first 3 episodes of Pam and Tommy with quickness. Enjoyed it quite a bit.

So we’ve watched a few episodes of the new Star Trek. More like Star Woke: SVU amirite?

Rant to follow:

The paradigm shifting that’s gone on since we decided that women and other nonwhitedudes are actual humans is good - the need to have diverse peoples and their actual mindsets incorporated into the logic of mainstream entertainment was real.

Nonetheless! Smashing together 14 weepy, inspirational backstories does not a story arc make. We don’t need these people’s pasts spelled out, just incorporated. As my wife said- look, we’re gad you’re on the ship - just STFU about your parents or genocided peoples or ambivalence towards a career in starfleet and drymounting get us to Warp 5 NOW so newKirk or someone can beam down with Spock and bang some blue thing while people upship crack wise and complain about having to do their jobs:

“Dammit, KindaKirk, I’m a doctor not a people fixer!!”

“MORE speed, captain?!?! Christ, what’s next?”

Etc…
just a foil for me today, thanks

Star Woke....lol. I think I will take your word for it and stick to the older ones. I don't care about the back stories of real people, much less fictional ones.

Cant believe i slept on apple tv for so long. Severance lives up to the hype (best thing Ben Stiller has ever been involved with although that ain’t saying much) and For All Mankind is really good so far a lil over halfway into S1.

First ep of Lucky Hank is pretty pretty good. Seems like something that would be right up fredos alley.

P.S. Seems like just about everything Bob Odenkirk touches these days turns to gold. Glad duke survived that whole ticker thing.

Poker Face is hit/miss like the 70s weekly detective shows it apes. Seemed super promising after the first 2 eps with Adrien Brody, which are still worth a watch imo.

I stopped after the 3rd ep, I think. The BBQ joint one. Agreed the first two were good, but I got tired of the premise quickly.

Yep station 11 was a great watch. Much better than Last of us as apocalyptic shows go. Last of us mostly bored me and I couldn’t help but think of TWD multiple times, and they did it way better. Never played the game.

The Rig on Amazon was a decent elliptical show for 9 sessions. Jorah Mormont and Alliser Thorne going at it. lol

Aye. Her “super power” is mostly unnecessary and takes away from the goings-on/detecting. Plausible enough in the first 2 eps, but…yeah. Just average TV.

Party Down came back after thirteen years, and didn't miss a beat. Only six episodes though. Number four had me crying.
