Spoiler Alert!
drymounting Hated It! And I love arty-farty/indy/alt/foreign films. After 30 mins I was ready to kill myself - reasonable start then - kaboom!
Imagine Irreversable without an amazing story/film - just a wank of provocative scenes without the backing to make it mean anything.
I'd love to hear what others liked/hated about it.
Keep away until DVD - 4/10 - 1 point for the actors each, 1 point for Lars being a madman, 1 point for the beginning/end scenes

Just saw The Road. Depressing as drymount but I loved every minute of it.

Saw Avatar this morning...pretty damn good. Maybe not the next Star Wars or a total game changer as Fox was saying, but beautiful visuals and a pretty epic climax.

saw the road this morning. I wasn't a huge fan of the book but I enjoyed the movie and thought it was well done. Personally I think a story like this fares better in movie form just because it's hard to convey the extent of the landscape devastation without visuals. i'm not sure if people who really loved the book will be pissed at the (relatively minor from what i remember) changes but I think they did a fine job of adapting it.
