^ Fredo - check out the sequel when you can.

Tried to find Robert Wise's The Set-Up to do for my classic next week and had to resort to getting a knock off Korean version on ebay. Shits me to no end when films from the pre-1970's (heck, even some 1990's films) aren't available on DVD or to stream.

Foxcatcher. Go see it when it's released. A little too long but oh so good.

saw john wick this afternoon. the final act dragged a bit, but otherwise it was exactly what i wanted/expected -- a fudge ton of fun. great soundtrack, too.

Rewatched Sweet Smell of Success and I say, if you haven't seen it, then do yourself a favour and watch it. It's such a deliciously great film. The dialogue is so rich and brilliant and the performances... oh man... Tony Curtis is so good here.

One of my favorite films.

There was a period right after I first saw it where my dad and I only spoke to each other in The Sweet Smell of Success quotes.

I just got out of hospital and will now be at home for a week+ doing nothing, so please folks if you have any movie recommendations (that are out/not at cinema) then please share them here. It would be much appreciated.

I will browse some threads here later when I have the chance.

Hope all is ok wotta.

Given my last recommendation for you didn't go so well I'm not sure what to recommend. Maaaybe if you don't mind documentaries, give All This Mayhem a shot. One of my favourite films of the year.

Oh, and The Raid and The Raid 2 if you haven't seen them. I'm due to rewatch The Raid 2 just because it's so drymounting good.

Yep, all good mate.

Cabin in the Woods is a bit of a different movie, it's either love or hate I'd assume. Hit me with any movie from the past mate, I agree with you on a lot of films you guys mention in your podcast.

I've seen both Raids. Great movies.

Cool. A few ones that I always recommend watching - having a hard time thinking of titles off the top of my head sadly:

Animal Kingdom
Young Adult
The Town
Gone, Baby, Gone
eXistenZ
In Bruges
Cheap Thrills has been mentioned round here a bit and is harmless fun
