Out of the Furnace is an incredibly solid film, but that first scene is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of execution that it's pretty jarring.

Solid, slow burn.
Fun fact: Sligo is apparently a mind-bogglingly beautiful place filled with assholes.

If you're down for South Korean revenge flicks, I recommend "I saw the Devil" and "The Man from Nowhere." Not sure the local blockbuster would have those but they're readily available on Netflix. A tad gory, but elaborate cat and mouse games between killers and heroes.

Frank, the skin I live in, how to train your dragon 2 and the rover were all fantastic.

Mind boggingly beautiful place is a mild exaggeration in describing Sligo.

Excellent. It's a taut thriller disguised as a penpal flick.

Finally saw The Zero Theorem last night. I was not disappointed. Not my favorite Gilliam movie but a very worthy addition to his catalog. And Waltz's performance was wonderful.

Mild spoiler:

Finally saw The Raid last night. Solid. I really dig the way the camera "moves" them through rooms, windows, holes in floors during fights. Only one thing bugged me to the point of distraction: the epic throwdown in the torture room between the brothers and the evil thing from the pit in Army of Darkness went too long. Not even Jake Lamotta could take that kind of head beating and walk away with their speech center intact. All of their faces should've been the size of windshields. Still- good fun.
