Not sure what is funnier - travolta's beard or his accent.

Really caught me by surprise. Wasn't really on my radar and when I watched it, it became one of my favorite films of the year.

Really hope Nichols continues making good movies. Did you see take shelter?
Yeah saw Tak Shelter last year, a great movie about mental illness, Michael Shannon is brilliant in it. Gotta watch Nichols first movie 'Shotgun Stories' heard good things about it. Hopefully get some time tonight to watch it. Really looking forward to see what he does next :pint:

This has flop written all over it. Travolta's Serbian accent is horrible. I was watching the trailer and my wife actually asked me if this was a comedy

Is it just me or does the other De Niro flick - The Family look like it might be alright?

Man of Steel (2013, dir Zack Snyder) Grade: A-
I loved it.
It was inspiring and the action exhilerating... I especially liked that first fight - it was like Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down (2001) within the borders of the U.S. I just couldn't believe what I was witnessing. Unreal.

I'm hoping for a trilogy. I'm not too keen on the idea of a Justice League movie. Just seems too silly. Let Marvel handle the children's stuff.

3/4 super intense great Zombie movie - 1/4 letdown.

Spoilers !!!

Where's the Fking blood & gore???? Why isn't Brad Pitt's wife hot??? Why does the film whimper at the end - where's a Bruckheimeresque massive battle at the end???

Very good, some of the best fast Zombie crowd stuff ever, but could have been much much stronger.

Great doco with a strong case being made for ET's...I highly recommend.Great production, not cheesy, well presented.Watch it!
Just watched Sirius. Very insightful doco (even though the narrator's voice was cheesy as). Good company with other docos like The Corporation, Zeitgeist, The Power of Nightmares, etc. but with UFOs/ETs.

I heard about Sirius from an interview with Steven Greer on Joe Rogan's podcast, and would recommend listening to that before watching. http://podcasts.joerogan.net/podcasts/d ... ian-redban

I think we need a doco thread on here.

Not a perfect movie by any stretch ... but I did not walk out of the theater feeling disappointed at all. Pretty darn good, surprising considering the production issues.

Lau Kar-leung, director and choreographer of the first and second greatest kung fu movies of all time, just passed away. You could do worse than watching an old school classic like 36th Chamber, Dirty Ho, Drunken Master 2, Heroes of the East, Eight Diagram Pole Fighter, etc.

Watched Killing them Softly a few days ago. I would give it a B-
Hard to imagine that a film with that amount of acting talent could be boring at times
Ending was a whimper

Sightseers. Check it out. Black comedy at its finest. Ben Wheatley is turning out to be a brilliant director - kinda wish he'd remade The Wicker Man instead of Neil La Bute.
