I know we have some lingering threads for HBO shows, but since Amazon and Netflix have a concentrated thread, figured it would be easier to have everything under one roof. HBO's really been putting out great shows recently: WATCHMEN, THE OUTSIDER, MCMILLION$ and last night I began watching THE PLOT AGAINST AMERICA.
It takes place in an alternate America circa New Jersey, 1940. Charles Lindbergh beats FDR for the presidency and pushes a fascist agenda, trying to incorporate what's happening in Germany at this time, here in America. The pilot was good and has my attention. We'll see how the rest of the season holds up.

Last night HBO debuted I'LL BE GONE IN THE DARK. a 6-part miniseries about the Golden State killer from the 1970's and 80's. Good stuff so far! I've been getting more in to the true crime documentaries the last couple of years, so this is right up my alley.

I have been enjoying Perry Mason. Matthew Rhys is great as the lead.
I need more. Nothing seems to satisfy. I don't want it. I just need it. To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive. - MJK

He's great and glad to see Tatiana Maslany getting more work, but the show is kinda meh so far. Still need to catch up tho.

Started watching THE UNDOING when it premiered last week and 2 episodes in, it seems good. Nicole Kidman's already giving an incredible performance this early on. Setting up Hugh Grant is a huge red herring and I have my own opinion of who killed this mother at the school of Kidman's son.
I binged THE VOW this weekend and it was alright. Glad to see Keith Ranier get his and curious how the rest of his accomplices will fare within the legal system with the charges brought against them? Time will tell but glad this cult has been broken up. Curious as to how the rest of the survives do going forward as well, especially in regards to India Oxenberg.

I thought the Vow was pretty good too. Netflix always gets heat for dragging out their docs, but I feel like HBO could have cut about 1/3 of the Vow and still told the story in a way that wouldn't have lost any impact.Irishman12 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 7:34 pm

Coastal Elites first monologue is spot on, Bette Midler kills it. Haven't made it through all five yet but so far so good!

I'm glad they stopped at 9. They may have gotten away without an episode or 2 but glad they didn't push it any further than it needed to be. Used to hate that back in the day with Netflix where "all shows must be 13 episodes each." Glad they've finally adapted to limited series or just letting it run it's course rather than forcing fluff for the sake of hitting a certain number of episodes.mtarail wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 10:53 pmI thought the Vow was pretty good too. I finally got tired of waiting for HBO and Amazon to work out there differences so I sideloaded the HBO Max onto my Fire TV and have started using it. THE VOW's the only thing I've watched so far but I'll continue using it. Hopefully HBO/Amazon get on the same page but if it's been dragged out this long, I don't see why either side would give in now?theperfecttree wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 11:36 pmme too, just watched both the available episodes.
