If the latter portion of that sentence doesn't say enough.

Oh FFS. I didn’t buy a 65” TV to watch fudge in 4:3. I got rid of my Trinitron many years ago... started the movie and 10 minutes in realized I wasn’t going to make it through 4 hours of that.
Sorry Zach, my vision for a movie does not include giant black bars on either side...

New Tina Turner documentary: 3.5/5 stars.
Loses 2.5 full stars due to lack of Mad Max footage/background/doesn’t even reference We Don’t Need Another Hero. I mean, come on.
That being said, gets one full star back due to a young Mel Gibson’s facial reaction to an interviewer asking Tina about Ike Turner being arrested on drug charges. It’s like two seconds. But it is absolute gold.

MARE OF EASTTOWN is only 2 episodes in, 5 to go but it's got me hooked so far. Kate Winslet is really delivering as Mare in I believe her first TV series role. Hope she gets an Emmy out of it. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the series develops.
100% agree. I was a little skeptical of Winslet in this role, especially with an American accent, after The Mountain Between Us. But she's excellent and I've been impressed with the acting across the board.Irishman12 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 7:38 pmMARE OF EASTTOWN is only 2 episodes in, 5 to go but it's got me hooked so far. Any earlier guesses on who you think the killer might be? See mine below.mtarail wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 9:14 am100% agree. 2 episodes in, I think it may be Dawn. She's dying of cancer, her girl hasn't been found in a year, and I don't think the original girl she spied on in the pilot, she was looking to kill. I think she misses her daughter and was caught gazing and what could be if her daughter had lived/been found. Once she saw the response it got, thinking she was a peeping Tom, she may have been motivated enough to kill to get Mare motivated again in her own daughter's case. Just a guess.
Apparently it takes place in Pennsylvania the same way The Simpsons takes place in America. They're throwing around actual place names, and local accents as if Game of Thrones travel exists in that world. I'm liking the show, but it's kind of distracting.
