I'd like to think it's so quiet in here because it's as awesome as everyone hoped. I'm in that camp so far

So far it's exceeded all of my expectations. I've been most impressed by the direction. Lynch has found a great balance between his directorial style from the previous seasons and his more recent films. He's at the top of his game.

Episode four may be the best so far. It was great to see Bobby again, especially in the scene where he sees the photo of Laura. It's a testament to the show that you can successfully go from an intense moment like that to the goofiness of Wally Brando. Another highlight has been all the new faces among the cast. Lots of great actors showing up for minor yet memorable roles. I've been bummed that Ontkean isn't returning but Robert Forester may be the best replacement one could hope for.

My only concern is that Cooper is going to remain as he is for a large run of the episodes. It's going to wear thin if we get to ep 12 and he's still in that state. But overall I'm just beyond thrilled that we get 14 more hours of this. I feel like I'm a kid opening Christmas presents again whenever a new episode starts.

3 days since episode 5 and I haven't seen one golden shovel pin. Disappointed.

I thought the same thing after watching the episode, but after searching the interwebz for said pin, there are already a ton cheap golden shovels available. I guess for all those ceremonial start of construction fanatics out there? Shovel pins somehow branded to be specific to TP might be cool, but I already went ahead and got this one from the Showtime merch store:

That Twin Peaks shop over on Showtimes site has some pretty good stuff. Skate decks, patches, couple giclees, more pins too.

I think there are alot of moments that will make some people frustrated beyond belief, but are actually quite hilarious.
