Still think the show is absolutely fantastic. I’ve seen lots of complaints about the lack of “story” so far, but I think the adventure of the week style works awesome for this show - it’s actually fun and refreshing to not know what to expect the next week. It’s like watching an old school western TV show with a 2019 Star Wars facelift. I will take it :)
I've seen lots of mentions of Filler episodes, which is strange as this is setup like a serial. You can see the pieces and some will no doubt coalesce into something larger, but it's definitely plays more like a serial western.

Some modern tv shows focus a lot on building these larger storylines above all else, never really laying proper groundwork and that's now ended up being the norm.
Hannibal season 1 vs season 2 is the best example of this.

i found it an enjoyable ending to a space soap opera /western, felt it completely redeemed Last Jedi with just a few scenes

I understand the mixed reviews and it's an easy one to criticize in some respects, but I thought it was very entertaining - full of spectacle and fun.

I like the central cast (particularly Rey and Kylo), I liked the set pieces, the emotional beats hit their targets for me and the score is wonderful (as per usual). I'm looking forward to going again next week with my kids and seeing their reactions.

For me my general dislike of Last Jedi was the Poe's story arc (including the tangent trip to the casino).

Large issues with narrative structure, seemingly because Rian (Who is a very good director otherwise) just didn't like what had come before.

I didn't see any particular development in the newer characters that was significant, Adam Driver was the most prominent to me of the bunch and at least in ROS it rounds out slightly better.

got it, I remember this all now.

went last night and it was the first time I have attended a Star Wars/Marvel (crazy fanbase) movie and people did NOT clap at the end. I don't think it was because people hated it, but rather that it was the end. just a weird overall feeling. as we left people standing in line waiting to go in were in shock when people left crying and emotional.
