Mandalorian is straight up magnificent. Every scene is beautifully crafted. I'm obsessed and ordered the Hot Toys figure lol.

Big step backwards in episode 3. All felt formulaic and lazy again. The series is balancing on a light saber’s edge; stray but a little and all could be lost.

Eh, I am as jaded as anyone with TLJ and the recent films. The same thing was said with that and it just didn't click.

This series just feels closer to Lucas with maybe a bit more levity, lots of his classic influences. I mean EP 4 was pretty much Seven Samurai minus Five.

Droid in ep.6 of "the Mandalorian" is voiced by "Moss" (Richard Ayoade) from "the IT Crowd", also nice to see Bill Burr has a role in the show ( he used to be very bitter about having missed the films when he was a kid as he as stated in many an interview). 1.6 was better than last couple of episodes imo (1.1 ftw tho). I am trying to be less hyper critical of these things lately, especially when it is well produced, entertaining to watch, and the last remaining respectable thread of the beloved franchise of my childhood.

Lots of good cameo spots in this, Bill played his part well. There is a ton of care put into this in general, callbacks aren't just for nostalgia.

Still think the show is absolutely fantastic. I’ve seen lots of complaints about the lack of “story” so far, but I think the adventure of the week style works awesome for this show - it’s actually fun and refreshing to not know what to expect the next week. It’s like watching an old school western TV show with a 2019 Star Wars facelift. I will take it :)

I've seen lots of mentions of Filler episodes, which is strange as this is setup like a serial. You can see the pieces and some will no doubt coalesce into something larger, but it's definitely plays more like a serial western.

Some modern tv shows focus a lot on building these larger storylines above all else, never really laying proper groundwork and that's now ended up being the norm.

#metoo

Not a huge fan of how the last 3 episodes are totally interchangeable but I'm hoping there is SOME sort of story arc that comes out of the last 2 episodes of the season.
