Our Planet on Netflix is heartbreaking, but great.

Episode 2, I think it is, when the walrus plunges off the cliff because we've drymounted things up so bad that they have no where else to go, I had to stop watching for a while.

That. Also got sad at the baby flamingo that couldn't walk fast enough, resulting in the salt solidifying on its legs, and everyone leaving it behind. I get that it's the way nature goes, but the way it is shot/cut makes it so emotionally draining.

Dammit. I had mercifully forgotten about the baby flamingo. Must have been buried beneath the horror of that walrus death plunge. I've always had a hard time watching that sort of thing, always wonder if behind the scenes they do something to help, which I don't think they do. Definitely draining to sit through.

They do intervene sometimes. Did ya watch the penguins episode of Dynasties on BBC America? They also intervened with one of the lions in that series, but I think that content was only in the behind the scenes episode IIRC. I thought the whole Dynasties series was amazing.

I haven't watched that Dynasties. It was on my radar and then forgot about it. I'll have to give it a go.

The Battered Bastards of Baseball on Netflix. Does a really good job of telling the story of the Portland Mavericks, the last independent baseball club that was started by Bing Russell (of his own fame, but Kurt Russel’s father). I didn’t know a lick about it, but it’s a great story. I’m frankly shocked it hasn’t been turned into a motion picture yet.

heartbreaking indeed...recently picked up a 4K OLED TV and upgraded my Netflix package to get the 4K content, and this was the first thing I watched..it's beautifully shot and a jaw dropper when I show friends how amazing 4K is

Never thought in a million years I'd get sucked into a Teddy Pendergrass doc, but holy crap it was really freakin' good and inspirational. Crazy story...
